SEOUL: As many as 179 passengers from the total 181 died in a tragic plane crash at Muan airport on Sunday morning. According to local media reports, two people have been rescued. It is reported that they were also injured. This is one of the worst plane crashes ever in South Korea.

Footage of the incident has already surfaced. Jeju Airlines flight from Thailand crashed during the emergency landing. The plane skidded off the runway, emitted black smoke and soon exploded. The initial conclusion pointed at a possible bird strike to have caused the accident. But now, a new video has surfaced opening debates about the incident. In the visuals, the flight is seen emitting smoke mid-air, purported as a bird strike.

It is reported that the Boeing 737-800 jet plane that arrived from Bangkok, Thailand at around 9 am local time skidded off the runway during landing and crashed into a signal system and a nearby concrete fence. Suddenly the plane caught fire. That added to the scale of the tragedy. The fire was extinguished after hours of hard work by fire engines. After this, the rescue operation started in full. By that time, most passengers were charred to death.
