One killed in Palakkad accident

PALAKKAD: A youth was killed in an accident in Palakkad. A pickup van ploughed into youths standing in front of a teashop at Thiruvazhiyode near Cherpulasseri. The youth killed is Thaksil of Tirur in Malappuram. Four youths sustained injuries. The accident happened Thursday morning at 2 am.

The pickup van carrying chickens lost control and rammed into youths. The accident happened when the youths, who were on a pleasure trip to Kodaikanal stopped in between to have tea.

In another accident in Malappuram, two sustained injuries after a bus and a bike collided. Two on a bike suffered injuries and they have been admitted to a private hospital in Kottakkal.
