Actress Minu Muneer taken into custody for trying to hand over woman to sex mafia

KOCHI: The police have taken actress Minu Muneer into custody for trying to hand over her relative to a sex mafia. The Thirumangalam police in Chennai reached Aluva and took her into custody. She will be taken to Chennai. The incident happened in 2014. The complaint is that the woman was brought to Tamil Nadu on the pretext of offering a role in a film and then tried to hand her over to a sex mafia.

The police had arrested Minu Muneer last month in a defamation case filed by Balachandra Menon. She insulted him on social media. The actress, who was arrested by the Kochi Infopark police, was later released on bail. Minu had alleged on social media that director Balachandra Menon sexually assaulted her during the shoot of the film 'De Ingottu Nokkiye'.

She had also filed a police complaint against Balachandra Menon. Minu's arrest was registered after her anticipatory bail was rejected on the complaint filed by him alleging that she was defaming him. She was later released on two sureties. The actress has been taken into custody by the Thirumangalam police while the investigation into the case is ongoing.
