Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) president and Thiruvananthapuram Archbishop (Latin rite) M. Soosa Pakiam is in serious condition in hospital, where he was admitted two days ago with high fever and respiratory problems. He has been put on Ventilator support in the intensive care unit with a medical team constantly monitoring his health condition.

The Archbishop was on a visit to Rome last month. On his return on Tuesday, he was admitted to a private hospital in the city upon his arrival via Doha. As he developed respiratory infection, he was shifted to another private hospital on Wednesday for better treatment.
Before leaving Doha, the Archbishop had been given first aid at the airport. Soosa Pakiam had earlier undergone a bypass surgery.
