KOZHIKODE: Transport Minister A K Saseendran said long distance services of KSRTC will start from tomorrow in the state. The rate will be the same as before. 206 services will be started. Services will be operated from areas other than containment zones. The services will start from Anayara instead of Thampanoor. There will be no services to other states now.
‘Data shows that people have come to the conclusion that there will be no public transport. Therefore, bus owners should ensure travel facilities for the people. The number of passengers relying on buses declined during COVID period. Leaving the public transport system is a big challenge for more people. It was in this context the KSRTC decided to operate services despite loss,’ the minister said. All that could be done for private bus owners were done, the minister said.
