Actor Kainakary Thangaraj passes away

KOLLAM: Film and theatre artiste Kainakary Thangaraj passed away Sunday. He was 77. He died at his own house in Keralapuram, Kollam. He died while undergoing treatment for liver ailments.

Thankaraj was a leading actor who has acted in over 10,000 plays. He is best known for his role in Lijo Jose Pellissery's Ee. Ma.Yau. The characters Krishnan Nedumpalli in Lucifer, Murugan in Ishq and Appachan in Home were notable.

He has bagged state’s best drama actor award twice. He became an actor after quitting his job in KSRTC and Coir Board. His first film was Prem Nazir’s Aanapachan.
