DHAKA: A white buffalo in Bangladesh, that went viral on social media for its eerie resemblance to US President Donald Trump, is reportedly set to be slaughtered this Eid. The buffalo, which weighs around 700 kilograms, is kept on a farm in Narayanganj, east of Dhaka. The reason behind the nickname is its golden hair that falls over its forehead, just like Trump.

The farm owner said that ‘Trump’ was sold at 550 taka per kilo, and he also expressed sadness in parting with the buffalo. Since the video went viral, people were flooding the farm to see ‘Trump’.

"I always bathed it four times a day and combed its hair to make it look handsome. I miss Trump a lot. But the message of Eid is to make sacrifices," farm owner Ziauddin Mrida told a media outlet. The albino buffalo is four years old.

Ziauddin said that if not disturbed, the breed is generally calm. He added that the reason for its size and healthy appearance is nutritious foods such as corn, soybeans and bran. Another buffalo on the farm, named after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, weighing more than 750 kg, is also a sensation.
