GLASGOW: India enjoyed another successful day at the Commonwealth Games, winning seven gold medals in boxing on Saturday.
The gold medallists in the women's events were Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), Priya (60kg) and Arundhati Chaudhary (70kg). In the men's events, Sachin Siwach won gold in the 60kg category, while Ankush claimed the title in the 80kg division.
India had representation in 10 boxing finals. Lovlina Borgohain (75kg), Jadumani Singh (55kg) and Narender Berwal (+90kg) finished with silver medals after losing their respective finals.
In para athletics, Soman Rana won the gold medal in the men's F57 shot put, while Shubham Juyal claimed the silver medal.
In the men's triple jump, Praveen Chithravel won silver, while Selva Prabhu Thirumaran secured bronze.
India also added two more bronze medals through Gulveer Singh in the men's 5,000 metres and Unnati Sharma in the women's 63kg judo event. The Commonwealth Games will conclude on Sunday.
