Kochi-based firm secures sponsorship rights of Indian cricket team; contract runs until 2028

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Muthoot Fincorp secured the title sponsorship rights for the next two home seasons of Indian cricket. The contract runs until March 31, 2028. The Kochi-based company won the rights for a two-year period. Reports indicate that the rights were acquired at a base rate of Rs 4.85 crore per match; however, the final amount could be lower following discussions with the BCCI.

Under the agreement, 35 international matches played on home soil will be held under Muthoot Fincorp's title sponsorship. This includes 10 Test matches, 12 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 13 T20 matches. Muthoot Fincorp's title sponsorship will commence with the ODI series against the West Indies, starting in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27.

IDFC First Bank was the title sponsor for matches held in the country. Muthoot Fincorp is set to take over this role. The value of IDFC First Bank's previous contract was Rs 4.2 crore per match. The BCCI held discussions with companies such as Google Gemini, IDFC First Bank, Spinny, and SBI Life.

Subsequently, SBI Life became an associate partner of the BCCI. SBI Life joins a roster of partners that includes companies such as Campa and ChatGPT. The BCCI made this announcement just as a busy home season—featuring visits from the West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe teams—is set to begin.
