WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has denied news that he was admitted to Walter Reed Military Hospital during the Iran-US airstrikes. He clarified that he is perfectly healthy and went to the hospital for routine checkups that are done once every six months. Trump's response was on the social media platform Truth Social.
He also responded to journalist Maggie Haberman, who questioned his physical and mental health. Trump clarified that he underwent a 'cognitive test' for the third time and that he has no mental health issues. He wrote on Truth Social that he is the first president in US history to undergo cognitive tests three times.
During the recent NATO summit, Trump incorrectly referred to Iran as the 'Islamic State of Japan' and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as 'Vladimir Putin'. This has led to discussions in the media about his mental health.
Meanwhile, rumors had appeared on social media that Trump was hospitalized during the initial US strikes on Iran. However, the report that is coming out says that these rumors are false and that Trump visited the hospital before the Iranian attacks.
