US launches airstrikes on Iran again in retaliation for Tehran’s attacks

WASHINGTON: US launched powerful airstrikes on Iran in retaliation for Tehran’s attacks targeting US bases in Jordan, on Wednesday night. US President Donald Trump had the other day said that Iran's attack on American military bases in Jordan would be met with a strong response. The attack was following that.

This is the first direct US attack on Iran in a week. The US Central Command said in a statement that it was a strong response to the attack on American soldiers. The attack began at 8 pm local time. It is not clear which facilities the US military targeted. Details of the damage have not been released.

We are going to unleash a very powerful attack on them. Because now it is our turn to retaliate against them. They know very well that an attack is coming,' Trump told the media the other day.

U.S. forces began launching strikes against Iran at 8 p.m. ET today. The strikes are a powerful response to yesterday's attempted Iranian attacks on U.S. forces based in the Middle East.

On Tuesday, at around 5.45 pm US time, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a missile attack on US military bases in Jordan. However, the US military completely destroyed them before they reached their destination. The US Central Command said there were no reported casualties or damage in the attack.
