Gym trainer who stabbed 21-year-old model in Delhi arrested after encounter

NEW DELHI: The accused in stabbing to death a 21-year-old model in West Delhi has been arrested. The arrested is 26-year-old gym trainer identified as Imran. Police said the accused was arrested after an encounter on Thursday night. He was shot in both his legs during the exchange of fire with the police. Imran has been admitted to the hospital with injuries.

Imran killed the girl on Wednesday evening. The model identified as Muskan was stabbed to death at her rented home in Tilak Nagar. He barged into her house when she was alone and attacked her with a knife. The neighbors rushed to the spot after hearing the screams and immediately rusher her to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. Muskan had sustained multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and other parts of her body.

The police had intensified search for the accused who fled from the spot after the crime. The two had known each other for about a year and a half and investigation also found that he had been repeatedly harassing her with love proposals. The investigation team subsequently conducted searches at the gym where Imran worked and at his residence, and questioned his friends and family.
