Pak move through 20-year-old's shoe store in Punjab; Police bust spy ring, Chinese CCTV cameras seized

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana police arrested a 20-year-old member of a Pakistani spy ring. Rachpal Singh from Gurdaspur in Punjab was arrested in the incident. Police said the youth used Chinese-made CCTV cameras to provide real-time information about India's strategic military sector to handlers based in Pakistan.

Police said the youth had rented a shop on the Ludhiana-Ferospur road, about six km from Baddowal Cantonment (a major military base operating in Ludhiana). The youth opened a shoe store but attracted no customers. Despite this dull business, he continued operating the shop, which raised suspicion.

The CCTV camera in this shop was installed facing the main road. The footage was sent live to Pakistani handlers through mobile applications. The police said that the youth was paid around Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh for this. Police say that Rachpal Singh is part of a large ring.

Meanwhile, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested a couple who were members of a Pakistani spy ring the other day. Delhi natives Sahil (25) and his wife Sameera (21) were arrested. Police said that they have links with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. When Sahil was nabbed from Saraikela Khan area and questioned, it became clear that his wife was also involved. WhatsApp chats with Pakistani agents were found on both their phones.
