PM Modi's video removed due to technical glitch; Meta apologizes to govt 

NEW DELHI: Meta has apologized for blocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Facebook video in India. Meta informed the government that the video was removed due to a technical glitch. The video was later made available on Facebook, Meta said in a statement. The government is seeing the incident seriously and will look into Meta's explanation and the reason for removing the video.

The representatives of Meta and officials are likely to be summoned to explain the incident. A news agency had earlier reported that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had summoned Meta's global head for blocking Modi's video.

Modi shared the video about the students protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on July 23. Modi had also assured the students that the government would take strict steps to stop the question paper leak. Strict legal provisions will be brought in consultation with the Union Cabinet. Instructions have been issued to set up fast-track courts for this. He had said in the video that nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth. The video, which was viewed by millions, was later removed by Meta.
