BHILWARA: A group of thieves wearing masks resembling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s face robbed a mobile shop in Rajasthan. The incident took place at Kareda in Bhilwara district. The theft occurred last night at the Matheshwari Mobile Shop near the bus stand. Around 40 smartphones worth around Rs 5 lakh were stolen from the shop.

The shop owner, Laxman, came to know about the theft when he opened the shop on Tuesday morning. After checking CCTV footage, he found that the accused entered the shop wearing masks resembling PM Modi's face. The group entered the shop after breaking the lock on the shop gate. The shop owner said that expensive smartphones from major brands were stolen. Based on his complaint, Kareda police reached the spot and conducted an inspection.

The group also attempted to rob another mobile shop in the city last night. CCTV footage from that shop also showed a person wearing a PM Modi mask. Police have intensified the investigation into the incident.
