YouTuber and Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan shot dead outside gym, search for accused

LUCKNOW: YouTuber and Haryanvi singer was shot dead outside a gym in Shamli on Wednesday evening. He has been identified as Ankit Balyan (32) of Haryana. He was shot dead outside the gymnasium at around 7 pm last evening. Initial reports said the aattackers fired about 18 rounds at him.

The incident happened near Aryapuri Nala Patri in Shamli City Kotwali limits. Balyan was shot when he was coming out of the gym and going to his car. Police said that a four-member team on two bikes are behind the attack. Balyan was hit by five bullets in the head and stomach. He was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Police have launched a search for the attackers who fled the spot after the attack.

The police are examining the CCTV footage from the gym and nearby areas. The reason behind the attack is not clear. Balyan's relatives and friends have come forward against the attack. Protesters blocked the Delhi-Muzaffarnagar Road demanding the immediate arrest of the accused.

Balyan had more than 3.66 lakh subscribers on YouTube. His videos often featured SUVs and guns. There were reports that Balyan was to contest the upcoming panchayat polls. However, it has not been confirmed whether this has any connection with the murder.
