THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vanchiyoor police have arrested four individuals, including a woman, in connection with an alleged honey trap case involving the extortion of approximately ₹5 crore from a businessman.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Roshni Suresh, a resident of Aruvippuram in Neyyattinkara, and her associates Jibin, Unnimol Jibin, and Abhishek. They were taken into custody following a formal complaint filed by the victim, identified as Vijayakumar, a native of Telangana.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly coerced the businessman into surrendering large sums of money, as well as a flat, land, and gold. The complaint alleges that the group initially demanded a share of the profits from the victim’s business before escalating their demands to physical assets.
Police alleged that the group utilised severe threats to intimidate the victim into compliance. The complainant stated that the suspects threatened to kidnap and murder his wife and children, and further claimed they would force his wife into a sex racket if their financial demands were not met.
The Vanchiyoor police have registered a case and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
