Man and son abducted in filmy style after daughter not given in marriage

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man and his son were abducted in a filmy-style and there was an attempt to kill them after his daughter was not given in marriage. Anil Kumar (53) and his son Achu (20) of Kilimanoor were abducted and held captive in an unfinished house at a deserted forest area in Nagaroor and beaten before being abandoned. The police have intensified investigation into the incident.

Two years ago, a youth named Sudheesh had expressed his interest in marrying Anil Kumar's daughter. However, Anil Kumar opposed it. The complaint alleged that Sudheesh and his friends, enraged by this, attacked Anil Kumar. The police have intensified investigation into the incident.

Police found that a room inside an unfinished house in an isolated, overgrown area had been made soundproof in a studio-like manner using glass. The arrangement was such that even if someone screamed from inside, the sound could not be heard outside. Anil Kumar was found chained and locked up in the room. Country-made bombs, gun, chains and other deadly weapons were recovered from the place. Anil Kumar, who sustained injuries and Achu were admitted to hospital. Achu informed the Nagaroor police about the incident.
