KSRTC employee taken into custody for sexually assaulting co-passenger in bus

ALAPPUZHA: A KSRTC employee has been taken into police custody for sexually assaulting a co-passenger on the bus in Haripad Saturday morning. He tried to sexually assault the woman, who was going to Kollam from Alappuzha.

The woman was sitting in a seat where two people can sit. The employee, who boarded the bus from Ambalapuzha and wearing a uniform with KSRTC’s emblem, sat next to her. The woman fell asleep during the journey after some time. The accused then tried to molest her. The woman suddenly woke up and screamed and soon the employee ran out from the bus. The driver, who stopped the bus then, ran after him and caught him.

When the woman said that she has a complaint, the bus was taken to Haripad Station. The police took him into custody on her statement. Reports say that he is an employee of Kayamkulam depot and that he boarded the bus to go for work. Police said that his arrest will be recorded soon.
