KOZHIKODE: One more teacher has been attested in the Vadakara MDMA case. The arrested is V P Neeshma (30), a teacher of Perampra Block Resource Centre (BRC) and a native of Avala Kuttoth. The police had kept Neeshma under surveillance on suspicion of her links with the drug gang. She was arrested after summoning her for interrogation Tuesday morning. She is the third teacher to be arrested in this case. Keerthana and Kavya, teachers of Perampra BRC, were arrested in this case earlier.
Police said Neeshma is involved in the dealings with the drug gang. In addition to the financial dealings, the three have been using drugs regularly and Neeshma has confessed this during interrogation. Police said more are involved in the case and they are all under surveillance. She was arrested under the leadership of the special investigation team formed following the direction of Vadakara Rural SP.
Police have received information that the three established contact with the mafia through Instagram and that they contacted them knowing that the gang was involved in the dealing of drugs. A friend in Mangaluru first gave them drugs. Since they were teachers, the mafia took advantage of them. They were dealing drugs through bank accounts without meeting the people in need. The police are also trying to find the people who supplied them drugs.
