NEW DELHI: Security agencies across the country are on high alert amid indications that the first program of satirical political outfit Cockroach Janta Party will be held in Bengaluru on Sunday. There is also fear of a Gen Z agitation, emulating Nepal breaking out in the city. Posts are circulating on social media asking people to organise near the Bengaluru Town Hall on Sunday to form a peaceful human chain. The messages are attributed to the Karnataka unit of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Bengaluru City Police says that permission has not been given for the program.

The number of followers on the CJP's Instagram page has crossed two crores. There are strong rumors the party’s X and Instagram accounts will be banned in the country. If banned, a backup Instagram account has been prepared. Its link has been posted on X. A campaign has also been launched to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The call made by party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday was seen by 22 lakh people on Instagram. More than 4.5 lakh people signed in support on the website petition.cockroachjantaparty.org/sack.

The Youth Congress also started collecting signatures to oust Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
