'Rescue Operation' case sabotage: Departmental inquiry ordered against three DySPs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has ordered a departmental inquiry against three DySPs for their alleged role in the sabotage of the Alappuzha "rescue operation" case. The officers facing the inquiry are DySPs Arun K S, K P Thomson and Sunil Raj. The alleged sabotage of the investigation came to light through the statements given by the three officers, who had investigated the case. Based on their statements, ADGP M R Ajith Kumar was suspended.

According to an order issued by the Home Department, the investigating officers should also face departmental action as they were involved in altering case records on the instructions of the ADGP. The Home Secretary has directed the State Police Chief (DGP) to appoint an inquiry officer within a week to conduct the departmental investigation.
