Toddler crawls onto railway track in Alappuzha, dies after being hit by train

ALAPPUZHA: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy died after he was hit by a train near his home in Ambalappuzha on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Thrinav, the son of Vineeth, a native of Kakkazham. The incident occurred at around 6 pm when the child reportedly crawled onto the nearby railway track.

The toddler was hit by a MEMU train travelling towards Kollam. It is not yet clear how the child managed to reach the railway track. Following the accident, the body was shifted to the mortuary of the Medical College Hospital.
