Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala orders crime branch probe in Sivasurya missing case 

KANNUR: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered the crime branch to investigate the missing case of Sivasurya from Chokli. He issued the directive by calling the crime branch chief over the phone. The act is after the action committee filed a complaint demanding an investigation. It has been 49 days today since 17-year-old Sivasurya went missing.

Sivasurya’s father Jigeesh had also demanded a crime branch investigation in the case. The family suspects that someone else may have helped Sivasurya to go missing. They believe that someone could be helping him to go hiding. The family has demanded an investigation into this possibility as well.

The investigation team has so far examined more than 200 CCTV cameras, but Sivasurya has not been captured in any of the footage. A police team that travelled to Varanasi in search of him has returned. Despite conducting searches for a week, the team could not find any clues about his whereabouts. With the help of the Uttar Pradesh Police, officers also examined footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras.

Sivasurya left home on August 8 after his mobile phone was taken away by his family. Before leaving, he left behind a note stating that he was going to Kashi. He had taken Rs 3,000 and two pairs of clothes with him. The police teams had also conducted searches in Palakkad, Kollam, Kozhikode and Kasaragod, as well as in Mangaluru and Mysuru in Karnataka, but no clues were obtained.
