KOTTAYAM: "This success is the result of my two years of hard work. Not just me, my father, mother and brother have equally sacrificed for my studies," said Changanassery native Johann Job, who topped the list of Malayalees by securing 69th rank in the NEET exam.
Johann, the son of Job K. Joseph and Ann Neetu Mathew, is a permanent resident of Bengaluru. He was trained in the online batch at the Pala Brilliant Study Centre. He is a student of Presidency School, Bangalore.
Johann wrote the exam from Karnataka state and scored 695 out of 720 marks. If there is anything to credit for his success, it would be the systematic approach followed in studying. The aim was not the regular model exams as part of the entrance training. The eyes were fixated on the main exam.
Johann yearns to study at AIIMS, Delhi. It was his early encounter with poor patients that instilled in him a liking for the medical profession. While he liked biology and physics the most, chemistry occasionally gave him trouble. Johann would start studying at 6 pm and calculate how much time was required to complete the portions for the day. No matter how late he stayed, Johann would sleep only after ensuring that the portions he wanted were covered.
While reading, he would prepare notes in small points. He would post small notes to study on the cupboards. While roaming around the room, Johan would take a glimpse at it, and it soon found a space on his head and came in handy during the exams.
