Man, daughter killed in lorry-car collision in Pathanamthitta

PATHANAMTHITTA: A man and his daughter were killed after the car in which they were travelling in collided with a lorry. The accident happened at Kalanjoor in Pathanamthitta Sunday morning at 4.30 am. The two dead have been identified as Sunder Raj and his daughter Janani, natives of Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu. The CCTV visuals of the accident that happened on Punalur-Muvattupuzha state highway have emerged.

The lorry carrying hay from Puliyara area in Tamil Nadu hit the car. After hitting the car, the lorry skidded off the road and then flipped upside down into a nearby canal. The car has been completely damaged.

Pranav of Aluva, his wife Janani, her father Sunder Raj and her brother Shivasankar were in the car. The injuries sustained by Pranav, who was in the driver’s seat, lorry drivers Venkitesh and Vinod are not serious. Seriously injured Shivasankar has been admitted at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The bodies of the two have been shifted to Konni Medical College.
