PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint alleging medical negligence has been raised against Kozhencherry District Hospital after part of an injection needle reportedly remained inside the body of an elderly woman following treatment. The complaint was made by Valsala (68), who had visited the hospital a year ago for treatment after suffering food poisoning.

According to Valsala, a portion of the needle broke and got lodged inside her body while she was being given an injection. She recently underwent surgery to remove the fragment, but doctors were reportedly unable to extract it completely. Aranmula MLA Abin Varkey said the issue would be brought to the attention of the Health Minister for further action.
