THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan has filed a complaint against BJP leader Major Ravi over remarks related to the funeral of late actor and former MP Innocent. Major Ravi had alleged that Pinarayi Vijayan, who was the Chief Minister at the time, attended Innocent's funeral with a large convoy of vehicles and a heavy police presence. The complaint has been submitted to Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, and the State Police Chief.
According to Major Ravi, Pinarayi Vijayan arrived to pay his last respects to Innocent with an escort of 56 vehicles, 560 police personnel, and 10 fire engines. He made the allegation while comparing it with Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan's visit to pay tribute to actor Salim Kumar. Videos related to the claim later went viral on social media.
The office of the Opposition Leader said the allegations were completely false and not based on facts. The complaint states that there may be a larger conspiracy behind the claims.
Pinarayi Vijayan has requested a detailed investigation into the matter and asked authorities to identify those responsible and take legal action against them.
