Plus One student brutally attacked by senior students, six suspended

KANNUR: A Plus One student was allegedly brutally assaulted by a group of senior students at a higher secondary school in Kannur. The injured student is studying at PRM Higher Secondary School, Kulavallur. According to the student, the seniors hit him on the head with a stone during the attack. Following the incident, the school management has suspended six Plus Two students.

The injured student said the assault took place around noon when he went to the school canteen for lunch. He said there had been no previous disputes or arguments between him and the senior students. According to the student, he was attacked after the seniors claimed that juniors should not "walk around with their chest out" in the school.

The student also alleged that the seniors had earlier threatened to beat him up if they found him alone.

The student's parents said he suffered a head injury that required stitches and also sustained injuries to his leg. Reports suggest that more than 40 students were involved in the incident, but only six directly attacked the victim. These six students have been suspended by the school.

The school authorities are examining whether more students were involved in the assault. Based on a complaint filed by the family, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation
