THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SFI staged another unique protest against Kerala University Vice-Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal. At the university headquarters, protesters wearing blindfolds symbolically put a bindi on the forehead of the VC’s portrait, which showed him wearing khaki trousers and a white shirt.
The protest was held against irregularities in the evaluation of LLB examinations and student-unfriendly measures. The SFI has been staging a protest at the university headquarters for the past two days.
The protesting law students also celebrated Onam in a different manner at the university headquarters. They created a floral design modelled on the Preamble to the Constitution at the protest venue, sang Onam songs, performed Thiruvathira and prepared payasam. Symbolic competitions in football, cricket, shuttle and volleyball were also organised. SFI state secretary P.S. Sanjeev inaugurated the programme.
