Vacation ends in tragedy: Two-year-old girl dies after falling off houseboat in Punnamada

ALAPPUZHA: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl died after falling off a houseboat at Punnamada. The child, identified as Sugan, was part of a six-member group visiting from Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The accident occurred at the Punnamada starting point at 12:00 PM on Tuesday. The group was on a leisure trip with their families. The child accidentally fell into the river from the boat.

Although houseboat staff and locals immediately rescued the child and rushed her to a nearby hospital, her life could not be saved.
