Turning point in Thiruvallam road accident: Car hits bike from behind, not after two-wheeler losing control

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a turning point in the accident that killed two IT employees in Thiruvallam. Initial reports said the bike lost control leading to the accident. However, it has been found that the accident occurred after a car hit the bike from behind. This car later sped away without stopping. The police grew suspicious and when examined the nearby CCTV cameras found the twist. The car was driven by Vipin of Malayinkeezhu. He has confessed to the crime during police interrogation.


The IT employees who lost their lives were identified as Naveen Siby (25) of Ernakulam and Mridula Ann Oommen (25) of Thodupuzha. Naveen was an employee in the testing section of UST Global Company and Mridula, an associate engineer of EY Company in KINFRA. The accident happened Thursday evening at 3.30 pm near Thiruvallam Toll Plaza on the bypass. The two were heading towards Kovalam from the city. Mridula died on the spot and Naveen in the hospital.
