THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF candidate KS Sabarinathan has approached the Kerala High Court seeking the cancellation of Nemom MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s election victory. The petition seeks his disqualification, alleging that Rajeev violated election rules by failing to disclose details of property worth Rs 200 crore in Bengaluru in his affidavit.
Sabarinathan has alleged that details of properties in three locations were deliberately concealed and that the returning officer accepted Rajeev’s nomination papers without verifying the facts. Sabarinathan said that when he submitted a complaint to the returning officer, he was advised to approach the court with an election petition.
Meanwhile, LDF candidate Kadakampally Surendran has also approached the High Court seeking the cancellation of the election victory of Kazhakoottam MLA V Muraleedharan. Kadakampally has alleged that Muraleedharan violated the Representation of the People Act.
