PALAKKAD: Minister K Krishnankutty rejected the allegations levelled by Mathew Kuzhalnadan, the UDF candidate of Muvattupuzha, that the floods in Kerala were manmade. The minister said the audio released by Mathew Kuzhalnadan is not his and that he doubts whether it is AI. He clarified that legal action will be taken in the incident today itself.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan released an audio message this morning, mentioning the name of former minister Mathew T Thomas, claiming that it is from K Krishnankutty. Mathew Kuzhalnadan had also alleged that Mathew T Thomas interfered in preventing the opening of the Thottappally spillway for the black sand lobby.
‘This is an allegation aiming elections. Such an allegation is being levelled to stain the image of Mathew T Thomas. The audio should be subjected to scientific examination. If the floods were manmade, why did not Kuzhalnadan raise it in the House? This is an issue the IIT had investigated earlier. Prabath, who attended the press meet with Mathew Kuzhalnadan, was not my staff. Prabath asked for some unnecessary things. When he did not get them, he left the party. I am not afraid of such things. Even the Prime Minister's audio is being faked,' clarified the minister.
Meantime, LDF candidate Mathew T Thomas of Thiruvalla constituency said that there is no need to respond to Mathew Kuzhalnadan's baseless allegations. He also clarified that there was no delay in opening the Thottappally spillway shutters during the time of floods.
