Malayalam film industry is controlled by 15-member power team; Santhosh Pandit reveals names

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The report of the Justice Hema Committee appointed by the state government to study the problems faced by women in the film industry, was released recently. There were reports that women are being exploited in a big way in the film industry and Malayalam cinema is controlled by a 15-member power team.
Santosh Pandit has now come forward reacting to the incident. Santhosh Pandit said the report will not do any good if no prominent people are named and the victims have no complaint. The actor responded via a Facebook post.

The Hema Commission report in brief is this.. Some actresses were sexually exploited by some actors and directors at some shooting location. None of them reported the incident and did not complain due to the fear of losing chances or due to threat of life.

Famous actresses were exploited by leading actors in top hotels. Noted channels discussed this. The list of the 15-member power team that rules Malayalam film industry has surfaced.

(No one should say yet that the Power Group consists of 15 invisible men with no name, address or Aadhaar.) The assault on the actor is not an isolated incident, there is evidence that more actresses have been victims of violence. But those famous actresses said will not file a case. Actresses also said that the use of drugs is rampant on most film sets.

Even if the movie is U certified on the screen... behind the scenes it is A certificate... some actresses get mistaken if any leading actor knocks on the door 10 times at night to make sure if the actresses have slept or had a good night's sleep. They don't understand that ‘care’ is behind that knocking of the door.

The government should immediately intervene and form a commission to find out whether exploitation of women is happening in all areas of Kerala. It is not right to dishonor only poor filmmakers. (There is no need for a commission to understand the exploitation of women only in the political field. because if prominent MLAs, prominent MPs etc. come to the position of the accused, it will be the situation of justice Hema Commission...)

(If no one's name is mentioned, if the victims do not complain, this report will not be of any use. But this report is a good ‘study class’ that tells young women who want to act in films and their mothers how to get more opportunities and become leading actresses.)
