KOZHIKODE: Actress Ansiba has called on veteran actors Mammootty and Mohanlal to publicly clarify their stance on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Speaking to a media outlet in Kozhikode, Ansiba said she was fighting alone for justice and claimed that she had only recently realised the extent of the influence wielded by those against whom she had filed complaints.
"The situation is so bad that one can get justice only by approaching the courts. High-ranking police officers are supporting them. I suspect there is a conspiracy. Until recently, I did not realise that the people I had complained against were so influential. If Mohanlal and Mammootty want to clarify their position on these issues, they should do so publicly. I don't know why they are remaining silent," she said.
Ansiba's remarks came a day after actress Shwetha Menon wrote on Facebook that she would expose the alleged "power group" through her fight. However, Ansiba claimed that Shwetha herself is part of the same group.
The crisis within AMMA has deepened in recent weeks, with internal disputes escalating into political allegations and claims of financial irregularities. The controversy intensified further after the Adani Group's name was also brought into the discussion.
Meanwhile, the Tripunithura Judicial First Class Magistrate Court recently directed the police to register a case against actress Lakshmipriya and Hill Palace Sub-Inspector Reshma based on a complaint filed by Ansiba. In her complaint, Ansiba alleged that Lakshmipriya subjected her to mental harassment by filing a false complaint against her, while accusing SI Reshma of inappropriate conduct.
