OTTAPALAM: Iron clips were found at three places on the railway track near the Mayannur flyover between Lakkidi and Ottapalam railway stations. The clips were fixed on the track in a way that could cause an accident to the trains. The Railway Police and the RPF have registered a case on suspicion of an attempt to sabotage the train and have started an investigation. CCTV cameras at the railway stations are also being examined.

The loco pilots of the three trains that passed by yesterday evening had reported that the trains were experiencing some unusual problems. The authorities had issued a cautionary warning to the trains following this. The loco pilot of the Palakkad-Nilambur train found the iron clips in a dangerous manner across the track. The clips were fixed at three places close together. The iron clips, which are used to fasten concrete sleepers and rails on the tracks, were fixed across the track. A similar incident had taken place in the Kanchikode area earlier.
