Major bust; Authorities seize 1500 liters of alcohol and vehicles from covert production center

PUTHUKKAD (THRISSUR): Around 1500 liters of alcohol, 300 liters of counterfeit stone made using alcohol, construction materials, vehicles, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) T S Sinoj from Chalakudy and his team were apprehended at a clandestine fake stone production center. This operation was being conducted in a highly secretive manner with the group having rented a property in Parappukkara Pallathu.

Following this incident, a man named Arun (28) was arrested at a residence in Arikara House, Guruvayoor Chovvallurpadi, Thaikkad. A specialized investigation was carried out at the regional level based on a tip-off. The police conducted this investigation under the supervision of the Chief of Rural District Police, Aishwarya Dongre.

The alcohol was discovered stored in an isolated rental property on Rappal Thottipal Road situated approximately two hundred meters inland from Nedumpal Pallam Road. Both the pickup van and the auto-rickshaw used for smuggling the alcohol were seized by the police. Authorities stated that a comprehensive inquiry will be conducted to uncover the sources supplying alcohol to Arun and to identify locations where counterfeit substances are being sold.

Arun, who was arrested is a suspect in a case involving a gang's attempted murder of a young person from Guruvayur back in 2016, which was rooted in prior enmity.
