Heavy rush to see YouTuber Thoppi; Police take case against shop owners in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A case has been registered against the shop owners for causing traffic obstruction. Traffic was obstructed when YouTuber Muhammad Nihad alias Thoppi came for an inaugural function.

The shop owners had invited Thoppi to inaugurate a cloth shop at Othukkungal in Malappuram last evening. Many had flocked to see Thoppi. When more people started coming, traffic was disrupted and following that the locals protested. The Kottaikkal police then reached the spot and sent back Thoppi. A case was later registered against the shop owners.

The police had registered a case against the YouTuber in connection with an inaugural function in last June. He was charged with obstructing traffic and using obscene language during the inauguration of a shop at Valanchery in Malappuram. A case was also filed against the owner of the shop inaugurated by Thoppi.

The YouTuber's song when he came to inaugurate the shop was widely discussed on social media then. Hundreds of teenagers, including students, were present at the event. The controversial event was on June 17. Thoppi has more than seven lakh subscribers for his YouTube channel 'mrz thoppi'. He is a native of Kannur.
