KOCHI: The officials who gave VIP treatment to Boby Chemmanur, who was arrested in the case of making obscene remarks against actress Honey Rose, have been suspended. Central Jail DIG Ajayakumar and Superintendent Raju Abraham have been suspended from service in the incident of providing facilities inside the jail. The action was taken following the investigation report submitted by the DIG of Prisons Headquarters.

Earlier, it was controversial that VIPs came to meet Boby Chemmanur while he was in Kakanad District Jail and he was provided with some other facilities. Following this, an order was issued for a departmental inquiry into the incident. There was a reference against the officials in the report of the DIG of Prisons Headquarters in the incident where Boby was given undue treatment.

The report also states that there was an attempt to influence the officials. The report also states that three people, including a native of Thrissur, had come to visit Bobby Chemmannur without entering their names in the register. They had a meeting with Bobby for an hour. As part of the preparation of the report, the CCTV footage of the jail was examined.

Bobby got bail after spending three days in jail in the case of defaming the actress. The court had criticized the action of Bobby who refused to come out despite completing the procedures on the first day.
