Breaking the mould of traditional Akshaya centres, Ernakulam district is now home to Kerala's largest such facility, housed in an impressive six thousand square feet building. This new centre challenges the conventional image of Akshaya centres as small shops, setting a new benchmark for IT infrastructure in the region.
Located in Arakkapady, within the Vengola grama panchayat, the Akshaya centre was inaugurated by P.K. Kunhalikutty, a former minister and prominent Muslim League leader. The centre has been relocated from its previous location at Arakkapady Junction to a more spacious facility opposite the Maveli Store.
The Akshaya Kendra has a team of 50 employees, led by entrepreneur V.H. Ajas, and promises enhanced services to the community. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Eldhose Kunnappilil, MLA, with key figures such as District Panchayat President Manoj Moothedan and Grama Panchayat President P. P. Eldhose in attendance, along with other public representatives and officials.
Chinju Sunil, the IT Mission District Project Manager, delivered the introductory speech. Adding to the event, UID State Admin N.R. Prema conducted the switch-on ceremony for the Aadhar Seva Kendra within the facility. The event also recognised and honoured senior Akshaya entrepreneurs from the district for their contributions.
