NEW DELHI: Shashi Tharoor MP revealed that there is a connection between Shivaratri and his name. Tharoor clarified that he was born on Mahashivratri and 'Shashi' which means moon after the crescent moon seen on Lord Shiva's head.
'I was born on Mahashivratri. Named Shashi for the crescent moon on Lord Shiva's head. My nakshathram falls today. This day is a very special one for my family. My birthday is on March 9 and this is in the records,' he said.
Tharoor recently spoke in an interview praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, which had stoked a controversy. Following it, Tharoor said that he does not have a narrow political mindset. Should support opponents if they do good things. Tharoor clarified that he has no plans to join the BJP and that it is not a party that stands by his beliefs.
