Major IPS reshuffle; Yogesh Gupta transferred; SP posting for officer facing investigation for sending obscene messages to women Sub-Inspectors

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Yogesh Gupta, one of the senior DGPs who is clashing with the government, has been removed from the post of Fire Force Chief. He has been appointed as Road Safety Commissioner. Yogesh had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal against the state government's action of not providing him with a clearance certificate to go on a central deputation. The action follows this. Road Safety Commissioner Nitin Agarwal is the new Fire Force Chief.

SP VG Vinod Kumar, who is facing an investigation by the Police Internal Complaints Redressal Committee for sending obscene messages to female SIs, has been transferred from the post of AIG in charge of law and order. He has been transferred to the post of SP of Information Communication and Technology. K.S. Gopakumar, who was the Additional Commissioner of Excise Administration, is the new AIG of the law and order department.

S Sujith Das, who was SP of Information Communication and Technology, has been appointed as AIG Procurement at the police headquarters. Vigilance SP KL Johnkutty has been made SP of Ernakulam Crime Branch. Thiruvananthapuram DCP Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh has also been transferred and appointed as Thrissur City Police Commissioner.
