Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's leave to be extended, CPM considering to appoint new Secretary

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The leave of CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan from the party has been extended for six more weeks, sources said. It is learnt that the party is planning to appoint a new person as the Secretary.

Kodiyeri had taken leave from the party to undergo medical treatment. According to sources, leadership is considering the names of senior leaders MV Govindan and MA Baby for the post. Meanwhile, certain party workers said that minister EP Jayarajan is also being considered for the post.

A final decision regarding this will be taken at the state secretariat on Friday.
