KASARAGOD: B Pradeep Kumar, former secretary of KB Ganesh Kumar who was questioned in police custody for four days after being arrested for threatening an approver in the actress attack case, was produced before the Bekal Police Hosdurg Judicial First Class Magistrate. The court remanded him in Kanhangad district jail.

Pradeep Kumar's bail application will be heard by the court on Monday. Despite being remanded in custody for four days, the investigation team was unable to conduct further investigation or gather evidence. As the accused did not co-operate in the interrogation, the police could not prove the high-level conspiracy behind the incident. During interrogation, Pradeep had said that he had come to Kasargod for a pilgrimage and had visited Ullal Church and Thrikannad temple in Karnataka and halted after seeing Dileep's movie poster. He further said about going to a store and buying a watch. The statement was that he did not look for anyone in the shop. Following this, further investigation and collection of evidence in the case was hampered.

The mobile phone and SIM card used to intimidate the approver could not be traced. These were the main pieces of evidence in the case. Police were told the SIM card was lost on the train. On January 28, 2020, there was a call to Vipinlal of Bekal Malankunnu, the approver in the case.
