THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the second day of vaccination drive, a total of 7,891 health workers in Kerala were administered COVID-19 vaccine, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
The government had planned to administer the vaccine to 11,851 health workers at 127 centres on day two. However, only 66.59 percent of the targeted recipients were administered the vaccine.
The vaccination was held at 11 centres in Kozhikode, 8 centres in Ernakulam and 9 centres in the remaining districts.
For the second consecutive day, the most number of vaccinations were reported in Palakkad with 657. The state-wide statistics of vaccination is: Alappuzha – 530, Ernakulam – 442, Idukki – 508, Kannur – 643, Kasaragod – 476, Kollam – 571, Kottayam – 500, Kozhikode – 652, Malappuram – 656, Palakkad – 657, Pathanamthitta – 648, Thiruvananthapuram – 527, Thrissur – 616 and Wayanad – 465.
So far, 16,010 people have received the vaccine. No adverse effect has been reported yet. A vaccination centre was established at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on Monday. Vaccination centres will be set up at Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital and at the community health centres in Pulluvila and Anchuthengu on Tuesday.
