KOZHIKODE: A quotation team abducted me, said pravasi industrialist M T K Ahamed of Tuneri in Nadapuram. He told media that he suspects some of his business partners in Qatar behind this and said that he doesn’t owe any money to anyone.

‘I was not able to identify anyone as they were wearing facemasks. They abandoned me at Ramanattukara after traveling some distance in a vehicle from his place of imprisonment. They told me that their boss asked them to release me. They then kept a 500 rupee note in my hand,’ explained Ahamed.

Miscreants abducted Ahamed while he was on his way to the mosque on Saturday. The team in an Innova knocked his scooter down and then dragged him into the car. They then tied his hands and legs and then blindfolded him. He said that he can’t remember the things that happened later. They then locked him in a room. The team gave him food and then asked him to send messages in the way they said. Soon after he was abducted, messages were sent to his relatives seeking ransom of Rs one crore.

Meantime, the police are conducting a detailed probe on the incident. Crime branch DySp is in charge of the probe. The team will be examining whether there is any other motive behind the abduction.
