Goods train derails; trains including Venad and Jana Shatabdi will be delayed

THRISSUR: A goods train derailed at southern Thuravu near Pudukad railway station in the district. The engine and four bogies derailed. The accident happened when the freight train was on its way to refuel from BPCL in Irumpanam.

Train services on the Thrissur-Ernakulam route have been partially disrupted. Railway officials and experts have reached the spot. The cause of the accident is not clear. Presently trains are passing in a single line. Kochuveli Express and Mangala Express were allowed to pass a short while ago. Trains including Ernad Express, Venad and Jana Shatabdi will be delayed.
