WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said the war with Iran has ended. Trump also said that Vice President J D Vance will partake in the settlement talks in Europe. Trump's announcement was during a rally in Georgia. However, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that no agreement had been reached with the United States on this matter. Iranian officials pointed that the announcement could be a treacherous move by Trump.
‘A major agreement has been reached in the war with Iran. Hormuz will be opened as soon as it is signed. The signing will be in Europe this week. Vance will attend the signing of the agreement. I hope that the answer from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is 'yes',' Trump told the media.
Meantime, Iranian media reported that Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that although most of the agreement has been finalized, there will be no compromise on some issues. The report also stated that he had made it clear that 'We have not reached a final decision on the issue. This is a very important issue. The relevant parties are reviewing it.'
Trump had canceled the attack on Iran that was scheduled for this morning. He later changed his stance by threatening to seize Kharg Island, Iran's economic backbone, and take full control of Iran's oil, similar to Venezuela.
