BENGALURU: Outbursts continue in the D K Shivakumar ministry sworn in Karnataka on June 3. After senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy resigned from the cabinet, another senior leader, K H Muniyappa has expressed dissatisfaction. With this, the crisis in D K Shivakumar's cabinet has intensified.
Muniyappa alleged that they ignored the most senior person in the division of portfolios. Muniyappa was given food and civil supplies. However, he is demanding a portfolio based on seniority. Reports said that he has informed his dissatisfaction to the Congress leadership.
Senior Congress leader and minister Ramalinga Reddy had resigned earlier. His resignation was in protest against not being given the Bengaluru Development portfolio. The outbursts happened just two days after taking oath. Ramalinga Reddy signed his resignation letter in front of the cameras after calling a press meet.
He clarified in the press meet that he would not act against his conscience and would continue as an MLA and party worker. Reddy said D K Shivakumar had clearly said that he would give him the Bengaluru Development portfolio, but violated that after becoming the chief minister and so resigning in protest.
